After catching up on Moon Knight, we looked to Hollywood, and did our best impression of Siskel & Ebert. We rebranded as Comics Over Time, and across two years and thirty plus episodes we took a look at nearly every MCU entry from Iron Man to The Marvels.

The Rollercoaster

Ah, yes. The MCU. Remember when that was a thing? Starting in the spring of 2022, while Marvel was riding high off of Endgame and Black Panther, Duane and Dan decided to return to the early days of Marvel Studios.

Our plan was simple: read some of the classic comics that inspired the MCU films, and then see how the comics and the movies complemented and/or contradicted each other.

Join us on our crazy ride, which not only celebrates the glorious achievements of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, but also provides a running history of the studio’s tumultuous 2023 releases.

MCU REVIEW: Iron Man

This week’s topic is Iron Man (2008), which kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe and returned Robert Downey Jr. to star status. It also started Marvel Studios on their way to multiplex domination.

This week we finally see the conclusion to the massive story arc started a year prior in Avengers: Infinity War as we watch the longest movie in the MCU, Avengers: Endgame. Get ready for time heists, another epic battle with Thanos and bittersweet goodbyes to some longstanding MCU characters.

For almost two years now we have been looking at Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe films they inspired. Now, with a new season on the horizon, we are going to wrap up this phase of Comics Over Time. Join us as we take a look back at the entire MCU, with its dozens of films spanning 15 years (so far).
